BANDSAW BLADES
A band saw is a powerful cutting tool which uses a blade on one or both sides, and is most commonly used to cut wood. It consists of a continuous band of metal with teeth along one edge to cut various types of timber. The band saw blade is commonly mounted on two wheels that rotate on the same plane, although some small band saws have three wheels. Portable band saws are usually powered by a small petrol engine or by electricity. Renewable energies such as wind, water, steam or animal power may also be used to power the band saw. Bandsaw blades are manufactured by cutting evenly spaced teeth on the blade which is used as the cutting edge. Bandsaw blades are commonly made from steel as it’s a hard metal and can take a lot of wear and tear.

The radius of a curve that can be cut by a particular band saw is determined by the width of the band and its lateral flexibility.
